Welcome to First Grade. I am excited to learn and disvover new things with your child this year. I believe that each student can have a successful year in First Grade if they have the educational support of parents and their teacher. Success begins when a chid believes that they are caoable of earning and achieving great things. My goal is to make sure every student believes that they can succeed in First Grade.

 Student Guide

The Canvas Student Guide provides information and guidance related to all things Canvas! Below, you will find both the text and video versions of the Student Guide: 

 Has Your Child Missed Class?

What to do if my child is absent- 

If your child is absent due to illness or vacation they can make up their work by completing the work by clicking the DAILY ASSIGNMENT tab found in Canvas and completing the assignments on the day of the week.

If your child has missed a previous week's assignments you can find them by clicking the DAILY ASSIGNMENTS then scrolling to the bottom of the schedule. Click the LAST WEEK'S LESSONS link. 

If your child has missed more than one week you can find the assignments in the YEAR AT A GLANCE chart. Click to be linked to the chart at the bottom of the page.. You can find each week's assignments by clicking on the date.

About the Weekly Assessments

Students progress will be assessed each week on Friday. 

Student's will be taking a spelling test, reading assessment and a math quiz or test each Friday. These test allow me to measure student's mastery of concept and reteach concepts not mastered.
