Ir + a formula to say where someone is going or things they are going to do
Using the verb "Ir", which means to go, we are going to learn how say what someone is going to do in the near future.
The conjugations of the verb are:
Yo -- voy | Nosotros -- vamos |
tu -- vas | |
el, ella, usted -- va | ellos ellas, ustedes -- van |
Combining the verb "ir" with the preposition "a" we can create a sentence to say things we are doing soon. We can also use it to talk about the places we are going.
For example: Yo voy a la escuela hoy. I am going to school today. Ustedes van a estudiar manana. You guys are going to study tomorrow.
Notice in the example that when I want to say that someone is doing an action, like to study, I don't change that second verb to study. I left it ending in "ar". So if I wanted to say: We are going to eat _______. You don't have to change "comer" to comemos. It would just be Vamos a comer______.
You can use this to talk about what you are doing in your video for your cooking project. "Voy a poner dos huevos en la olla". I am going to put 3 eggs in a pot.
What are you and your family going to do during the Christmas break?
Write 8 sentences about what you and your family is planning to do during the break. Mix up who you are talking about so you can use a variety of verbs and not just "Voy". Talk about maybe what your brother is doing or your parents are doing.
