- Available Dec 16, 2020 at 12am - Jan 15, 2021 at 11:59pm
Here you may upload all your drafts of your three pieces (2 per piece for Creative Writing 1, or 3 per piece for Creative Writing 2, per instructions in this module) for your portfolio. You may also submit a hard copy to turn in this assignment if you prefer! Canvas is not required: it's here to help you submit if you prefer a digital resource!
When you upload pieces, please label them as to which draft they actually are. For instance, I might label mine, "Draft 1," "Final," or something of the like, so that I can easily see your progress.
What to upload: the three pieces can be entirely up to you. In first term, you wrote either the Scrambled-Found poem, or the 4 symbolic poems about you, as well as a short story. A revision of these could be 2 of your 3 total. In 2nd term, you wrote a short story and a nonfiction essay, and either of these could work as well! If you prefer poetry to prose, definitely use something from first term! That said, do not turn in slap-dash work you just wrote recently as your portfolio. Your revisions in writing are a key component to the reason behind 1) workshop, 2) sharing (such as give-and-get) and 3) why I read your writing and give you feedback. Providing brand new work at the time of portfolio submission will dock a letter grade per piece on the final rubric due to the lack of revision potential.
As always, ask any questions of me (through Canvas, if you like!) before problems arise!
After you turn it in to Canvas, in the Comments/Reply box to the right of the turn-in, please reflect on each piece you wrote. In a few sentences, tell me about the writing process: what was fun? what worked? didn't work? How did you get where you finally ended up?
