Week 1: Wrap-up and Looking Ahead

Wrap-up

For this week we have explored tools to become scientifically literate and why that is important in this day and age.

The BIG IDEAS addressed this week:

You have friends in class and have found things you have in common with them.  Don't forget that you have friends in the class! Continue learning more about them and what you have in common with them!

Determining Credibility This is becoming more and more of an issue as we are constantly bombarded with information. We learned how to determine how reliable a text is.

Lab Safety is important and crucial to remaining well and healthy. Some common aspects student forget over the year are: DO NOT EAT anything in the lab! The lab space is only open when Mrs. Fonnesbeck has given you instructions to work there. Broken glass will ONLY be cleaned up by Mrs. Fonnesbeck.

Looking Ahead

Next week we are doing a lab! Come prepared with closed toe shoes, long hair tied back, and having passed the Lab Safety Quiz.

We will be experimenting with a chemical reaction that is involved in the blowing up of an airbag, like the ones in your car. We will also be exploring variables and their roles in a science experiment.
