Thank you for all the donations for the Valentine's Party last week!

Remember the February book report is due NEXT FRIDAY , February 29.  Your student should be reading at least one chapter book each month.  They can use A Long Walk to Water for their book report.

What We’re Learning This Week

This week in language arts we’ll be reading Home of the Brave, a beautiful novel written in free verse.  This is another story about one of the Lost Boys of Sudan and is a perfect complement to the book we read last week.

In math we’ll be finishing up algebraic expressions with lessons on the distributive property and writing expressions from real-world problems.

In social studies this week we will continue to learn about the Roman Empire.

And in science we will be finishing up our unit on weather systems.  Students' homework this week is to record a "weather broadcast."  They will be making a simple map and recording their weather prediction based on the high/low pressure and fronts they draw on the map. They will be recording their broadcast using Canvas.

School Computers at Home

Just a reminder about school computer use at home:

  • Student use of school technology is intended for school work only.
  • Students should NEVER chat or call other students or employees who they do not know.
  • Students should NEVER reply to chat or answer calls from students or employees they do not know.
  • Chat or calls should only be school related and done with permission from a teacher or parent.
  • Misuse of devices and tech tools can result in losing the equipment and/or access to the tools.

Please remember that both you and your student signed an acceptable use policy in order to use district technology.

Student Body Officer

Becoming a Student Body Officer is a great chance for a new seventh grader to make friends quickly.  Please see the information below about  what to do if your student is interested in becoming an SBO next year.

Millcreek Junior High--Students need to pick up a form from me.  They will be writing a one-page essay about why they would be a good student-body officer.  The essays are due back to me on March 14.  Millcreek will then judge the essays and choose an officer from Bountiful Elementary.  No late essays will be accepted.

Mueller Park Junior High--There is a MANDATORY meeting for all students interested in becoming an SBO at MPJH.  It is March 4 in the MPJH library at 6 pm.  After attending the meeting, interested students need to pick up an application from me.  These will be due on  April 11.  One student from Bountiful Elementary will be selected who will then be interviewed at MPJH to determine the final selections for officers.
