Activity 9 - Evaluate: Create an Imaginary Country Population Density Map
Learning Objective: I can draw a population density map of my imaginary country that shows the relationship between human settlement and geography.
- In the previous lesson, you created a map of an imaginary country and labeled it with natural and cultural features.
- In this lesson, you will draw a population density map for your imaginary country.
Instructions:
- Draw another map of your country. You may want to try tracing it by placing a blank piece of paper over the first map you drew.
- Draw a population density key in the bottom right hand corner.
- Remember that different colors represent different numbers of people living in that area.
- You can refer to the population density maps below to help you.
- As you decide what areas to color with a high population and a low population think about the natural features. Which natural features would have a high population near them? What natural features would have a low population near them?
- Shade your map with crayons or colored pencils.
