Mini Biography: Hello! My name is Carly Maloney, and I have been teaching in Davis School District and at Viewmont High School for ten years. I graduated in 2014 from Idaho State University with an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education English and Psychology. While attending ISU, I also played for the Division I Women's Soccer Team.

I just recently graduated with a MED in Learning and Technology from Western Governors University. Viking pride runs through my veins! A Viewmont graduate myself, I am thrilled to be back. 

I have always wanted to educate, but my desire to teach English and Psychology to secondary students did not arise until I took courses from incredible teachers, many of whom happen to be my fellow faculty members. Although my love for English has always been present, my love for Shakespeare has not! For a while, I dreaded the man and the requirement to read his plays every year. It was not until college--when I learned that Shakespeare's writings have the potential to bring so much more than migraines--that I fell in love with the playwright. Now, I attend the Utah Shakespearean Festival annually, and the bard inspires me to be the educator that I am today. In 2023, I was named Davis School District Teacher of the Year and, in 2024, Utah Teacher of the Year.

I love to spend time with my husband, my three kids, and my Wal-Mart puppy (which is a story for another time).
