Complementary Still Life
What You Need:
the color wheel
white drawing paper
two complementary color colored pencils plus black and white
What You Do:
Review the color wheel.
Complementary colors are opposite one another on the color wheel.
when they are used next to each other, they look brighter.
When they are mixed together they make gray.
Pick the color scheme you would like to do (red & green, blue & orange, yellow & purple).
You will gather objects at home that represent the complementary colors you picked
You will set up an interesting still life, using your objects.
Take a photo of your still life so you can put it back together next class
Draw and shade each object only using the color it is made from. For example, if you have an apple then you would draw and shade it in red.
Try mixing the complementary colors together to make gray.

Color the background making sure it looks good with the objects.
Attach a grading rubric to the back. Fill it out and upload your artwork.
