Fairfield Bands
Hello!
Alexandria Groneman, Band Director
School Email: agroneman@dsdmail.net (primary contact)
Office Phone: (801) 402-7084
Welcome to the Fairfield Junior High band program! I am thrilled that you have decided to bring music education into your life. As Plato stated, “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” Through the learning and performing of music, I want students to walk out of class each day with a renewal of spirit, humanity, and understanding of music and how it beautifies the world around them. For my students, I want them to find and develop a passion for what they learn each day. Students will be invested in their own education and will be encouraged to work with their classmates to enrich the lessons learned in band.
Please take a moment to read all the information listed both in this Syllabus, and in our Canvas course(s). Please note that students and parents will be asked to bring a physically signed copy of this syllabus to class as verification of having read the information. Please do not hesitate to contact me at the above email/phone with any questions or concerns. I look forward to the upcoming 2023-24 school year!

Equity, Accommodations, and Differentiation:
All students are welcome in band! Mrs. Groneman is happy to find a spot for you, and will work with any educational or learning accommodations needed as they arise. Additionally, students are always encouraged to give their assignments an initial attempt, but differentiation is always available on a student by student basis. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation outside of a 504/IEP, or have questions about other extensions, accommodations, and differentiation provided, please contact Mrs. Groneman at agroneman@dsdmail.net. Students needing specific help/adjustments on specific assignments are also encouraged to reach out via email as well.
