- Where do I find the assignments for my class? Go to the "modules" tab in the Canvas Course for your class, and find the module for this week. There will be links to all assignments, videos, instructions, and other resources that you will need for the week.
- How do I turn in assignments? All assignments for this class will be turned in digitally on Canvas to be graded (usually a photo of your artwork). Carefully follow the assignment instructions so you know what to turn in. If you need help turning in an assignment, see me during class. There are class ipads available to take photos of your work so you can submit your assignments.
- When will my assignments be graded? All assignments turned in during the week will be graded by Friday at 4 pm. Canvas grades will transfer into Encore overnight, so all grades should be updated in MyDSD by Saturday morning.
- MyDSD shows I am missing an assignment, but I know I turned it in.
- First, check Canvas to make sure your submission was received (sometimes it says it submitted, but did not actually complete the upload).
- Second, check the comments on your submission to see if there is an explanation for why you did not get credit and for instructions on anything you need to fix to get credit for the assignment.
- If you are using an Apple device, and your photos are saved in a .heic format to save space, sometimes Canvas will not accept or display that file type. Make sure they are .jpeg files.

- If you have done both of these things, email me or send a message in Canvas so we can address the problem.
- I am sick or quarantined and cannot attend class. What do I do so I do not fall behind?
- First, EMAIL me to let me know you will be absent!
- Second, you can join class remotely via Zoom during our regular class time so you can see demonstrations live and ask for help with your assignments. Email me BEFORE class to get the Zoom link.
- Finally, check Canvas for what you are missing in class.
- I was absent. Where do I find what I missed in class, and how long do I have to turn in my missing work? Check the "Daily To-Do" page in the module for the day you were absent. You will find links and instructions for what we did in class. You should complete any assignments and review any instructions before the next time we meet in class.
- My assignment is late. Can I still turn it in? YES, mostly. See the following deadlines:
- All late assignments will be docked 1% for each day they are turned in late. Missing assignments will automatically be given a zero grade until they are turned in.
- Make sure you turn in missing or late assignments ASAP so you don't fall behind or receive a zero for missing assignments.
- Be aware, unless you have communicated with me about extreme extenuating circumstances (IEP accommodations, recent Covid infection, etc.) I will NOT be adjusting scores for docked assignments.
Email me if you still have questions! I will get back to you within 24 hours.
