FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. Where can I access the course disclosure?
Course Disclosures are posted on the class Canvas page in the Quick Access Links at the bottom of the page., then look under Class Resources
*The class disclosure has expectations, grading scale, course structure, missing/late work policy, and course materials.
2. What is the best way to contact you?
Email is the fastest way to receive a response.
3. Should my child be accessing Canvas daily?
Yes. All course material is put on Canvas. Students will submit all assignments through Canvas as well (with the exception of those scores given for in-class activities).
4. Does Canvas contain the most up-to-date grades?
MyDSD is the most accurate since there are some in-class assignments that are completed and graded in class.
5. What if my assignment is late? Can I still turn it in?
YES! I accept late work up to midterms, then any missing work from the first four weeks of school will be marked as a zero.
6. What if I were absent or still have missing assignments?
You can access missing/absent work by looking at Canvas and checking the work due on the dates you were absent. If you need missing paper work, I keep extra copies of papers in a crate. Remote/digital assignments are found online.
7. What if MyDSD says the assignment is missing?
If a paper assignment given in class is missing...
A. Check your science folder/notebook because graded papers are given back to students
B. Check the in-class folder for "NO NAMES". It is on the whiteboard tray in the front of the room.
C. If you were still unable to find your graded assignment, check your backpack, notebook, etc. again...then come see me for a copy of the assignment and we will figure a way for you to complete it and get credit.
If a remote/digital assignment on Canvas is missing...
A. Double check in Canvas to make sure it shows that it was turned in and graded. Make sure you are submitting science assignments to the science teacher, make sure the submitted assignment has the same name as the online assignment, and look for comments from the teacher explaining why you did not get credit for the assignment, then submit it, again, to get credit.
B. If Canvas shows the assignment has been turned in and graded and there are NO teacher comments explaining why you got no credit, come see Mrs. Ballew so we can figure out why you don't have credit and we can resolve this issue together.
