My family together in June 2021. My oldest daughter served a mission in the Washington D.C. South mission (June 2021-Dec 2022) and will be married on August 9, 2023. My son is serving a mission in the Barbados Bridgetown mission (pictured here in St. Lucia perfecting his coconut opening skills with a friend.) He will return October 2024.

In May 2023 I received a Best of Davis Award and was one of 15 elementary teachers in the District honored with this distinction. I was one of 7 that interviewed (with a panel of 10 stakeholders in the Superintendent's office! Wow!) for Teacher of the Year. Unfortunately?/Fortunately? I was not chosen. I did get a new glamour shot and they put it on a yard sign! I also got this verrrry heavy engraved block trophy as well as a jacket and a night at the movies with my family. The sponsors of Davis School District also provided a monetary stipend with the award. It was truly humbling to be recognized for the things I was naturally doing as part of who I am. I'm so grateful for these two ladies who make my work days so much brighter! |
2023-2024 Amazon Class Wish List
- Students will be provided with 2 pencils, a pack of crayons and a notebook to leave in the classroom bin. Please don't worry about buying bulky pencil cases as our storage space is limited. These items will stay in backpacks during the school day.
- Parents are welcome to donate pencils, glue sticks, Expo dry erase markers, pencil-top erasers, plastic 2-pocket folders as well as other classroom supplies such as Kleenex, plastic baggies (all sizes), small plates and plastic utensils. Click on the Amazon Wish list link above for more ideas.
- Your child will need a pair of headphones to use with his/her ipad. Our classrooms are one-to-one (each child has their own device!) which is very exciting! Both headphones and devices will stay in the classroom carts and will follow your child each day from English class to Chinese class and back again.
- Watch for the Sign Up genius in your email that we will send on back to school night with ways you may wish to volunteer or donate items for specific classroom activities throughout the year. Make sure your parent/guardian email addresses are up-to-date on myDSD to insure that we are effectively communicating with you.
