July 1, 2024: There were two errors on the AP Summer Packet. On "Islands," the 3 islands need to be: Greenland, Java, and Sumatra.

The Himalayan and Pyrenees Mountains were also listed twice.

So sorry about the errors.

Here are the two maps you need for the packet: Eastern Hemisphere and Western Hemisphere

I recommend that you become an "Observer" for your student's class:

1. Go to the Sunset Junior High homepage

2. Below the picture of the school entrance, click on the link that says "Canvas." This is the third link from the left.

4. Then there will be a login screen. Select "DSD Guardian and Guest Login" on the right.

5. Below that login is the phrase, "Instructions to set up a parent account."

6. It will then walk you through the process. Your student will need to be there to help you get the code to use to add this class as an observer.

Supply lists for my two classes:

AP Human Geography:

Pencils or pens.
1 package of 12 or more colored pencils.
Two 1-inch binders (you will bring one for the first semester and the other for the second semester, so you will NOT need them at the same time).
Around 200 pieces of loose, college-ruled lined notebook paper (about 2 packages—you don’t need this all at once).
OPTIONAL, but recommended: 2 highlighters of different colors.
OPTIONAL, but recommended: Pencil pouch to keep everything organized

World Geography:

One 1-inch 3-ring binder. You can use part of another folder.
One package of 100 college-ruled lined notebook paper (you don't need this all at once).
One package of 12 or more colored pencils.
Pencils OR pens.
OPTIONAL, but recommended: two highlighter pens of two different colors.
OPTIONAL, but recommended: pencil pouch to put in a binder and hold colored pencils, etc. I can provide bags if needed.

About Mrs. Baker:

I am coming into my 24th year teaching--my 17th at Sunset Jr. High. I was a student at Sunset Jr. many years ago and I am a Sundevil through and through. I am a graduate of Clearfield High School and Utah State University, and will get my Masters degree from the University of Utah this December. I have a husband who is currently working for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Cedar City and two adult sons--one who is a student at Southern Utah University and works for the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and one who is married and just graduated from Weber State University.
