In high school, I was busy. I enjoyed participated in many clubs including, National Honors Society, Key Club, L Club, was in student government, and completed 4 years of early morning seminary. I competed and lettered in 4 varsity sports: football, basketball, Soccer, and Track. I earned Academic All-State honors 8 times, All-Conference Honors Receiver for Football, and All-State Honors for Triple Jump in Track and Field. While participating in all these activities, I worked part-time as a cook at one of my favorite restaurants in the world Burger Express.
I attended 12 years of post-high school education. I have graduated with 4 degrees from 3 universities: Bachelors in History from Brigham Young University, Bachelors in Social Studies Teaching with a minor in ESL and Masters in History from Utah State University, and Masters of Education from Western Governor’s University.
I have been teaching for 8 years. My first 5 years were at Fairfield Junior High in Kaysville. Then I returned to my hometown to teach at Libby High School for 2 years. This year will be my second year at Clearfield High School. I have taught Utah Studies, World Geography, US History, AP US History, CE US History, Government, and IB History of the Americas.
When I am not doing school things, I exercise regularly in the form of running, biking, and strength training. I enjoy completing any variety of home projects. And I think about hunting and fishing almost constantly. I have been married for 17 years to the love of my life, Liz. We have 4 children: Sam 15, Jenni 13, Howie 9, and Libby 7.
