Frequently Asked Questions:

• How do I log in to Canvas?    Follow this link Links to an external site. to the Canvas login page. Select "Access Canvas as an Employee or Student" and use your student email address and PIN number to log in.
• How do I create a parent account for Canvas?    Follow this link Links to an external site. and click on "instructions on how to set up a parent account." Once your account is set up, you will use this same page to log into canvas.
• Where do I find the assignments for my class?   Go to the "modules" tab in the Canvas Course for your class, and find the current module. There will be links to all assignments, videos, instructions, and other resources that you will need for the module.
• How do I turn in assignments, and when will they be graded?  All directions for the assignments will be on their pages on Canvas. Carefully follow the assignment instructions. Some assignment are teacher graded and will be graded within 48 hours of submission. Canvas grades will transfer into myDSD overnight, so all grades should be updated in MyDSD daily. 
• MyDSD shows I am missing an assignment, but I know I turned it in.    First, check Canvas to make sure your submission was received. Second, check the comments on your submission to see if there is an explanation for why you did not get credit and for instructions on anything you need to fix to get credit for the assignment. If you have done both of these things, email me or send a message in Canvas so we can address the problem. Remember, there may be a delay on scores transferring from Canvas to myDSD.
• I was absent. Where do I find what I missed in class, and how long do I have to turn in my missing work?  Check the lesson pages in the module you were absent for. You will find links and instructions for what we did in class. You should complete any assignments and review any instructions before the next time we meet in class. • My assignment is late. Can I still turn it in? YES!  Nearly all assignments can be turned in late, up to a final end date, however you should turn in missing or late assignments ASAP so you don't fall behind and so you are ready for tests. See each specific assignment page for details.
