I love my job! I care about my students. The Art classroom is a place where students get to learn in a different way. My goal is to make class personal and meaningful to students as they gain and build skills.

All coursework will be posted and graded on Canvas. Communication with students, email, feedback, questions etc. will also be directed through Canvas Inbox. Please encourage your parent/guardian to sign up for a Canvas Guardian Account so they can see your classes and support you.

Professional Development My PL courses

These courses are available to all teachers in the state through Dsd canvas catalog for 1 USBE credit each. Completing a 3 course stack will complete a drawing or painting competency portfolio. Teachers who are not seeking an art endorsement may also take the courses for lane change credit.

Drawing Courses:

Level 1: Line

This course is accessible for beginning through advanced artists. Participants will work at their own level to advance drawing skills. Drawing 1 covers basic skills of drawing with line; specifically, contour line, composition, and proportions of the face. Resources include texts, videos, demonstrations, and collaboration with other educators.

This course is accessible for beginning through advanced artists. Participants will work at their own level to advance drawing skills. Drawing 2 covers basic skills of drawing with value; specifically, light and shadow separation, rendering of form, and modeling light for portraiture.
