Information
To join orchestra, you just need to put in your request- Beginning Orchestra. If you have played previously and would like to audition for a higher level ensemble, please contact Mrs. Wallin.
Additional information:
- Music is not genetic; you can be taught and everyone can be successful.
- You can do orchestra and sports! Many students have participated in cheer, volleyball, track, basketball, and football and ORCHESTRA
- Orchestra is affordable! If finances are an issue, please let me know and we will make it happen!
- Orchestra is a group activity that we practice together in class and perform together. You get to make friends and learn together.
Beginning Orchestra Instruments:
Violin: The highest sounding instrument and the most popular (and we need a lot of them!)
Viola: This instrument looks like a violin but has a lower sound like a cello. We need a strong viola section for the orchestra to have balance.
Cello: The cello has range of the human voice and you sit while playing it. It is the second most popular instrument in orchestra.
Bass: The foundation for orchestra! We need a few strong bass players. Bass players also have the opportunity to play in Jazz Band.
