1-point perspective

Objective: be able to draw accurately in one-point perspective.

Why: One-point perspective is how we show depth when we are looking at the front face of an geometric object from eye level. 

Standard: Elements and Principals of Visual Art, Create.

One-point perspective drawing.

1. Watch the video on what I want you to do. It is about 8 minutes long.

2. Draw a 1-point perspective drawing. if you forget how to do a part of the drawing, go back and watch sections of the video, or look at the instructions file below. I want you to make 10 forms (the video says 3, it is wrong, I want 10).  If you get stuck email me cwright@dsdmail.net and ask specific questions on what you want help with. Like: “Will you show me how to create a capital E in the upper left corner of the page”, I would be glad to send you drawings.

Below are written instructions with the steps on how to do 1-point perspective. They may help. Remember your major lines should be horizontal, vertical, and vanishing.

3. When you are done, photograph and send me a copy of your drawing, or bring it to class.
