Term 2 Class Agreements and Expectations

Welcome to Applied Secondary Math 1! This assignment is just to clarify the expectations and what you will need to do in order to succeed in this course.

Attendance:

        In this class we meet 1 time per week (Thursday at 12:30). Our meetings are scheduled in our teams channel. If a student is not in class, they will be marked absent.

        Our classes are recorded and posted in an attendance assignment for tracking. Students have 1 week to watch the recording for an absence to be removed. 

        Davis connect has an 80/80 Policy which states that students are expected to attend 80% of class and submit 80% of the work.

         If students have below an 80%, school policy is that they will schedule/attend support sessions (In my class these can be scheduled through a weekly assignment) and students are NOT limited to 1 session a week.

         Each term students will be required to schedule a 1-1 appointment with instructor to complete a discussion-based assessment with camera on the entire duration of the assessment and no

                 students are required to complete this assessment alone and without any support from any other individual. Violations of this policy or failure to complete the assessment will result in a failing grade

                 for the term and placement will be reviewed. 

Work Submission:

       As mentioned above students are expected to submit 80% of assigned work. 

       I post each weekly modules containing the work for that week. It is STRONGLY encouraged that students log in and complete work each week to avoid falling behind.

       Each week's module will contain 3-4 academic assignments (ALEK's, NEARPOD, and 1-2 a core assignments). The attendance assignment is used for tracking only and does not impact your grade.

 Class Participation:

      Class meetings are a vital part of our program and participation is highly encouraged. This means cameras on, coming off mute, answering in the chat.... after all NO ONE wants to hear the teacher's voice for a whole hour. So be here, be present, and interact.

      Also.... ASK QUESTIONS! If you have a question, there is a 100% someone else has it too, so ASK.
