Bio: This is Mr. Ballard's first year teaching. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a BM in Music Education. He directs Centennial Jr. High's four choirs, serves as the Thunder Theatre Music Director, and teaches Guitar 1 and Music Explorations.

Mr. Ballard's first musical love was piano, which he started playing at age six. He attended Copper Hills High School in West Jordan, UT, where he was a Sterling Scholar for Instrumental Music and fell in love with singing after joining choir. While at BYU, he studied classical voice and gained acting and singing experience through opera. He performed and sang the role of Njegus in Franz Lehar's "The Merry Widow", Jeremiah in "He Shall Prepare a Way", and in Opera Scenes. Mr. Ballard also has sung in various choirs of all levels, performing in the Pacific Northwest, Sweden, Estonia, Lativa, and Spain. He has also served as an artistic director for various community choirs in Utah County.

When Mr. Ballard isn't teaching, he sings in a barbershop quartet called Evening Ring with three of his best friends from BYU. They have performed and held concerts all around Utah, on a European Baltic Cruise Liner, and in the streets of Sweden, Estonia, and Latvia. Mr. Ballard also loves learning languages and has a 1500+ day streak on Duolingo. He speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and is currently learning German. He and his wife, Emi, have been married for just over a year. They enjoy cooking, playing tennis, traveling, and watching true crime documentaries. Besides piano and voice, Mr. Ballard's favorite instrument is the Thunder Sheet.
