Photography

Welcome to Photography!

In this class students will be introduced to the technical and compositional processes of creating and analyzing photographs. We will discuss the history of photography, elements of composition, darkroom developing, the mechanics and care of the camera, and careers in the fields of photography.

To help assess learning, students will self-evaluate all projects by using a rubric with the following criteria:

Elements / Principles: How well do you understand and apply of the elements of art and principles of design?

Create / Craftsmanship: How well is your work done with exceptional care and attention to details and neatness?

Connections/Creativity: I can relate artistic skills, ideas, and work with personal meaning?

Present/Follow instructions: How well did you analyze, interpret, refine and select artistic work for presentation?

Artist Statement (respond): What did you learn about by doing this project? How did you interpret the assignment to personalize it?
