Identify and practice the movement skills such as walking, running, and jumping.
I can run with proper form for at least 10 minutes.
Task
Ready to run??? Running is something we are born to do. I know, I know, you don't love to run, it makes you hot, your knees will hurt, and on and on, but trust me, humans were born to run. Watch a baby who learns to walk, and within days they are running all over. I want you to run with proper form, so you can enjoy running, even if its not your passion. In this assignment, you will learn correct running form, and you will practice running for 10 minutes.
Instructions
- Watch one of the two videos, above. Remember: different people will respond better to different coaches, so pick your favorite video coach and go for it!
- Go for a 10 minute run. That sounds easy, right? Well here are the steps I want you to use:
- Run for 5 minutes with the proper form you learned from the video. This DOES NOT NEED TO BE FAST, just in proper form.
- At minute 5, stop using your arms for 1 minute, just let them hang to your side.
- At minute 6 start using your arms again and feel the difference.
- At minute 7 put your chin on your chest and look down, be careful not to trip.
- At minute 8 lift up your head and look forward with your chin leading your chest.
- Finish your 10 minutes with proper form.
