The Rundown:
Before editing a Premiere Pro project, or any other video project, you need to prep your videos and media files so they're ready to be edited. We're going to prep them through ingesting and file management - a process involving organizing your folder and files into the right locations for easier future use.
This process is essential to long-term video careers and for advanced video making in general, and it will be beneficial for you to get in the habit now.
The Instruction:
The following two videos are currently incomplete (they are missing important background footage). You may watch them for their verbal explanations still, but I will demonstrate the concepts taught in them during class instead. Check back later and these should be updated and complete in a few days.
Google Drive vs. The Finder:
Prepping Media Files for Editing:
The Requirements:
You are to create two folders for future use:
- One folder in your OneDrive/Google Drive titled "Video Production 1"
- One folder on your Desktop, in your Documents, or somewhere else on your computer titled "Compositional Video" or similar.
To receive credit for the OneDrive/Google Drive folder, you must set sharing permissions in that folder to "Anyone with the link" as a "Viewer":
To receive credit for the folder on your computer, you must add to the folder your video files, audio, and any other media intended for the Compositional Video project.
Once you have completed both of these steps, take one screenshot of both folders and components and submit the screenshot to this assignment. Make sure both components are visible in the screenshot, like so:
Make sure I can see both the OneDrive/Google Drive folder permissions and the media files in your computer folder in the screenshot.
